Success Stories

Water is essential for health, productivity, and community development, yet many rural villages face significant challenges in accessing safe water. Through our water access projects, the Nategemea Foundation has successfully reached several communities, including Nainokanoka, Selela, Esilalei, Sangaiwe, Sambwaa, Mwada, Eyasi, Baraka, Mto wa Mbu, Rhotia, Babati Vijijini, Karatu, Ngorongoro, and Monduli in the Arusha and Manyara regions.

  • Deep and shallow wells: In these villages, we have drilled deep wells and shallow wells reaching depths of up to 80 meters and beyond. These wells provide a reliable source of clean water, significantly reducing the distances that villagers, particularly women and children, previously had to walk to collect water.
  • Rainwater harvesting systems: We have also constructed rainwater collection systems, allowing communities to capture and store seasonal rainfall, providing a sustainable water source throughout the year.
  • Community impact: Access to clean water close to home has made a significant difference. Women and children no longer need to spend hours each day walking long distances for water, giving children more time for studying and allowing women to engage in other community and economic activities that contribute to local development.
